TLC Silica Gel 60 Plates, Aluminium & Glass Backed, Normal & Reversed Phase – Millipore | 20×20 cm
These TLC plates use Millipore’s Silica Gel 60 stationary phase — the global standard for routine and analytical TLC — with an average pore diameter of 60 Å providing consistent separation selectivity for small organic molecules. Aluminium-backed plates can be cut to any dimension and are suitable for routine analytical and semi-preparative work; the glass-backed variant offers greater rigidity and resistance to higher drying temperatures. The F254 fluorescent indicator incorporated into select variants allows UV-active compounds to be visualised as dark spots under 254 nm UV light without staining. The RP-18 F254s variant carries a bonded octadecyl (C18) reversed-phase layer, enabling TLC of polar and ionic compounds with aqueous-organic mobile phases — complementing normal-phase analysis workflows.
