PTFE ring-shaped magnetic stir bars are a widely used and versatile format in laboratory stirring applications. The distinctive ring or pivot ring around the centre of the bar serves a dual purpose — it improves rotational stability at varying speeds and makes the bar significantly easier to retrieve from vessels using a retrieval rod or magnet, reducing the risk of tipping or splashing when working with hazardous or sensitive liquids.

Manufactured entirely from high-purity PTFE, these stir bars are chemically inert and resistant to virtually all laboratory solvents, concentrated acids, strong alkalis, and oxidising agents. This makes them suitable for the most demanding chemical environments where metallic contamination from coated bars would be unacceptable. The smooth non-stick surface prevents sample adhesion, ensures clean and complete liquid drainage, and allows easy cleaning or autoclaving between experiments.

Available in 23 size variants ranging from 3 mm to 16 mm diameter and 8 mm to 100 mm length, these stir bars cover an exceptionally broad range of vessel sizes and volume requirements. They are compatible with all standard magnetic stirrer hotplates and are widely used in analytical chemistry, organic synthesis, pharmaceutical research, environmental testing, and quality control laboratories.
