PTFE octagonal magnetic stir bars are engineered for smooth, stable, and efficient liquid mixing in laboratory environments. The eight-sided profile provides a distinct advantage over standard cylindrical bars by significantly reducing wobbling and erratic spinning at higher rotation speeds, resulting in more controlled and reproducible stirring performance. This makes them particularly well-suited for sensitive analytical procedures and reactions where consistent agitation is critical.
Manufactured entirely from high-purity PTFE, these stir bars are chemically inert and resistant to virtually all laboratory solvents, acids, alkalis, and oxidising agents, ensuring zero sample contamination during use. The smooth non-stick PTFE surface prevents material adhesion and makes cleaning straightforward, either by simple rinsing or autoclaving between uses.
With a fixed diameter of 8 mm across all sizes, these bars fit consistently into standard laboratory beakers and vessels, while the range of lengths from 15 mm to 75 mm accommodates different vessel sizes and volume requirements. Compatible with all standard magnetic stirrer hotplates.
